Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said it was the ideal opportunity for Umno to “continue on” from Muafakat Nasional, the political coalition it shaped with PAS in September 2019.
In the most clear pointer that there was not going to be any further collaboration between the two gatherings, the Umno president said the party expected to confront the following general political decision (GE15) without the vulnerability of the partnership looming over its head.
Zahid said as parts of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) alliance, PAS and Bersatu had reported that it had agreed as far as state and parliamentary seat allotments in the promontory for GE15.
PAS, he added, had additionally proclaimed its dependability to Bersatu and its leader, Muhyiddin Yassin after it joined PN in August last year.
Zahid as of late repeated it would not work with Bersatu in the coming surveys dependent on the choices made by the Umno Supreme Council and party grassroots at the last yearly broad gathering and division gatherings.

Zahid’s post comes days after he indicated that Muafakat Nasional was dead whenever requested from the coalition’s possibilities in the following GE.
In April, he said Umno would keep on shielding Muafakat Nasional, even after PAS declared its arrangements to stay with Bersatu in the following surveys.
Umno and PAS marked the Muafakat Nasional contract on Sept 14, 2019, in a move that supposedly had covered many years of contention between the two gatherings.
